Moncton is a big city in Canada and is situated on the Chocolate River valley. It is one of the most visited tourist destinations in New Brunswick. There are many historic places and museums in the city. However, what attracted me the most was the nature and wildlife areas. The place was very attractive and most of my trip was spent on outings. Some of the top places you can find in the city are explained below:
- Irishtown Nature Park
Located at Elmwood Drive, Irishtown Nature Park was perhaps the most beautiful place I have been to. The park has a big lake ideal for canoeing and kayaking. The entire area of the park is around 2200 acres and the landscapes are green and attractive. The nature trails are perfect for hiking and mountain biking. We visited often and had a great time experiencing the outdoors with them. Well, back to Irishtown, there are lots of bird-watchers visit the place as it houses lots of birds belonging to different species like woodpeckers, finches, nuthatches, black-capped chickadees etc.
- Magnetic Hill Zoo
If you are a wildlife enthusiast, you should definitely visit the Magnetic Hill Zoo located at 125 Magic Mountain Road. The zoo breeds a wide range of animals like lions, tigers, bears, cheetahs, flamingos, zebras, monkeys, arctic wolves, and deers. The entire habitat is well kept and is a great place to visit with kids. The 40-acre zoo has over 400 wild animals. There are maps that guide the tourists in directions within the zoo.
- Magic Mountain
Magic Mountain is the best amusement park in the city. I had a great time with my family at this water park. The entire place is well maintained and neat. There are many fun slides and clean pools in the park that are customized for kids of all ages. Some of the popular rides are the bullet waterslide, Kamikaze, and the Lazy River ride. The prices are quite reasonable and you also get to buy snacks and refreshments like pizzas and ice creams.
